There is a tropical storm brewing in the Pacific. The storm will have an impact on vessel schedules around the Hawaiian Islands. At this time, the Coast Guard has shut down the port at Kawaihae, on the Kona side of the Big Island. The port on Maui will soon be affected and may be shut down as well.
Even the ports that remain open will have some shipments affected due to weather and driving conditions. We have no indication that the storm will have a material impact on the Honolulu port, however, they have forecasted extremely heaving rain through Wednesday that could hamper deliveries. At this time, it is only the shipments to the neighbor islands that are most affected.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will expedite all shipments as soon as the containers are available.
