Due to the extensive damage sustained by Matson’s Maunawili vessel that resulted in a cancelled sailing on 02/11/15, a backlog of containers has materialized in the Matson yard. As a result, Matson added the Matsonia vessel to the fleet in addition to transporting containers from Long Beach to Oakland to offset the congestion. Unfortunately, Matson was not able to overcome the backlog with the sailing this past Wednesday, 02/18/15. As a result, additional cargo has been delayed to depart Long Beach and Oakland on Saturday 02/21/15.
