Matson announced last Friday a major increase to the ocean Fuel Surcharge effective on May 1. This comes after their announcement of a projected operating loss for the first quarter of this year. The fuel surcharge that the steamship lines apply is one area that we have very little control over. We will have to add the additional surcharge to our invoices upon the effective date.
